About me
Registered Art Therapist HCPC AS018384 . BAAT 47537

Pleasure, my name is Taline Schubach. I am Brazilian, a double immigrant, an Art Therapist trained in Spain (where I lived for 10 years) and professionally registered with the HCPC and BAAT.
I am passionate about human development. In my professional path, I completed a postgraduate degree in Ecology of Human Systems and another in Brief Character-Analytic Psychology, both from the Spanish School of Reichian Therapy (Es.Te.r). I believe that body and mind are inseparable and that artistic creation - free from the value judgment of right and wrong, is the maximum expression of the human condition.
I have a solid artistic career as an illustrator of children's books, with more than 50 books published in countries such as Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Spain and Madagascar.
For as long as I can remember, I have been curious about the human mind and the origin of so many anxieties. Hence my interest in attachment (Bowlby), creativity and play (Winnicott) and affectionate raising and respect for the being that grows (A. S. Neill).
Speaking of A. S. Neill, Freedom is my favourite word. And that's why I believe the therapeutic process is a process of searching for the freedom to be who you really are.
While living in Spain, I accompanied first-time parent couples on a childbirth and breastfeeding preparation course. Here in the UK, I coordinated peer support groups for Latin American immigrant women who are survivors of domestic violence.
I discovered here in London the importance of reclaiming our roots, recognizing ourselves as part of the society that welcomes us, re-creating bonds and tribe (community) as well as the importance of self-care.
My therapeutic work style is relational, whether online or in person, I invite you to express yourself through free artistic creation. From this creation, we reflect together on the process and possible meanings. In a few words, the free artistic creation is to art therapy what free association is to psychoanalysis.
Everything we do carries something of us. Often information that we don't even know about ourselves yet, or about how we decode reality around us. The artwork is often gentle and only reveals what can be seen in the moment. Sometimes revisiting an artwork later reveals new aspects we hadn't absorbed before. The client-work-art therapist triangulation is the key to the therapeutic process in an art therapy setting. I found in art therapy the beauty of being able to talk, reflect and grow through art expression. I invite you, who have come this far, to sit by my side - even virtually - and begin this journey of self-knowledge.
